New Character Redesign by Joe Madureira!

Marvel Comic's has released some new information on whats coming up in the future. First there's Ultimate Vision, in which the character design was created by Joe Madureira.

Ultimate Vision

Ultimate Vision will be a six part backup story found in these upcoming Ultimate Universes:

NOVEMBER 2005
1. ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #86
2. ULTIMATE X-MEN #65
3. ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR #25

DECEMBER 2005
4. ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #87
5. ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #88
6. ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR #26

In the same article at Newsarama it said that Ultimates Ver. 3 won't hit shelves until October 2006...a whole yeah from now. This is kind of an upset but it gives Joe Mad and Jeph Loeb TONS of time to pull together this series; I'm hoping they use their time wisely.

There was another Q and A with Joe Quesada this week at Newsarama where he answered a couple Mad! related questions:

NRAMA: “Ultimate Vision” back-up story by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr [with a character design by Joe Madureira]?

JQ: “Ultimate Vision” will be a back-up feature that will be appearing in the following Ultimate books over the next few months. In November, Ultimate Spider-Man #86, Ultimate X-Men #65, and Ultimate Fantastic Four #25.

Then in December, Ultimate Spider-Man #87, Ultimate Spider-Man #88, and Ultimate Fantastic Four #26.

Six chapters, each four pages in length.

NRAMA: “Black Terror” wants to know:
“Since Joe Madureira is now back at Marvel and has apparently stated that he will continue Battlechasers in the future, is there any chance of Battlechasers coming back as an Icon title?”

JQ: That’s a great question, I honestly don’t know but I’m sure it’s a conversation we’ll be having with Joe if and when he’s ready.

NRAMA: From ”Rocket Boy”:
“When speaking on the topic of your rather daring choice for the new Ultimates creative team [editor’s note: Jeph Loeb and Joe Madureira, for the record] you said you felt it would be pointless to attempt to emulate what Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch did. What, in your mind, sets The Ultimates apart in this regard from the other Ultimate ongoing titles such as X-Men and Fantastic Four whose creative team changes have essentially maintained the status quo for those titles?

JQ: Could we actually say that? To me the art of Greg Land is so different from Adam Kubert as is Stuart Immonen from Andy [Kubert]. But that said, The Ultimates has been so hugely defined by the work of Millar and Hitch that I think anyone who is stylistically close will be in for some incredibly unfair comparisons. When Ultimates Vol. 3 hits, you won’t be able to compare what Mad is doing to what Hitchy has done because it’ll be like comparing DaVinci to Picasso, both genius but so different. So, my feeling in this case is that Jeph and Joe will immediately make The Ultimates their own from the minute they hit the ground.

Futhermore, the new Marvel Preview magazine shows that the Poster Marvel is releasing by Mad! for December is indeed just the House of M #1 variant cover. However, Wizard magazine is releasing a poster issue that includes the Captain America splash page found in Wizard 168 so that's pretty awesome.

NYCC Battle Chasers Sketches

Joe Madureira has finished his two new Battle Chasers sketches for the New York Comic Con. They'll be 11x17 prints available in Artists Alley table L2. Signing times are 10:30am-12:00pm and 3:00pm-4:30pm Friday-Sunday during the New York Comic Con. Joe also answered a few questions about the prints. 1) Yes, Monika's boobs have gotten a little smaller (!) 2) Poor Garrison was going to be featured in his own print, but I didn't have time, and he ruined the composition of the team shot. So--I promise I'll do one of him for the next show. I didn't forget him! 3) I will look into some sort of online store where you can buy stuff without going to a convention. 4) These two particular prints are grayscale and resemble penciled line art on an 11x17 bristol board. Ie. It looks like pencils. I will have 3 other full color prints available that some of you may have seen at SDCC. 5) Yes, I do hope to get back to Battle Chasers someday. I do still love these characters, whi
